你所不知道的世界上有十种东西快用光了
原文转载自:http://www.rantlifestyle.com
No.10 巧克力Chocolate
If you weren't aware, most of the cocoa in the world comes from West Africa. You know, that totally stable region of the world? Cocoa beans aren't 'fair-trade' so a lot of that Halloween candy you stuffed in your mouth actually came from child slave labor. Cocoa farmers have also learned it's not really worth their time to produce the crop that can take up to five years to grow. What costs $1 today, can cost a whole lot more in about 10 years.
No.9 红酒Wine
There has been a 1 percent rise in consumption of wine world-wide, and 5 percent fall in production. These new boutique suppliers of wine just can't keep up with the demand. We need a solution and fast, because there is nothing more annoying than a wine-o without their poison.
No.8 龙舌兰酒Tequila
Agave is a pain of a crop. Blue agave plants take up to 12 years to produce the fructose necessary to make tequila. So when disease hit the agave crop in Mexico in 2007, a lot of the farms had to be burned, putting a damper on your future tequila consumption. Many Mexican farmers have also switched over to growing corn instead as it is staggeringly cheaper. Don't despair, there is plenty of tequila stocked up, but what you pay for it will change.
No.7 氦气Helium
Say bye-bye to your fun party decor! There's a national helium reserve in Texas which is about to be sold off. Congress passed an act in 1996 to make sure this happened, and if you haven't noticed, that's next year. Helium is used in the making of LED products, MRI magnets and fiber optics, so its demand is actually pretty high. Once all the helium is sold off, good luck filling up balloons with anything other than your own puffs.
No.6 山羊奶酪Goat Cheese
Across Europe, farmers have given up on the production of goat milk because it's just not making them enough money. No goat milk, no goat cheese. This is really a bad day for wine drinkers, huh? Production also ceased in certain areas to prevent the spread of Q fever. Just another annoying little flu transmitted by farm animals.
